She's called Phoenix. I was actually planning on giving her a Greek name, so I was flipping through my astronomy book, hoping to find a name like Callisto or Alcyone or something, instead, I saw the constellation of Phoenix, thought: That'll do, and there we are. I'm so lazy.

I wanted to make her an elf at first, but then an elf would need a good reason to be in the Valley, so I thought, Let's make her Feralian. Then I realised a Feralian would need an even better reason to be in the Valley. So she is a Graelian. She is not a mage (all Feralian races are highly anti-magical), but likes to dress as one.

She is actually quite a mischievous character: the reason she looks grim here is because she is doing her Ferys impersonation.

Truth is, she is in the unique position of being the only person who fancies Ferys.
