And today we start with a random photo of soaking dried mealworms...
Red and yellow aquilegia:
Here is a photo of a poached egg flower:
Lamb's lettuce flowers:
This was the plant that I found a thrip on and chucked outside. Since it seemed to be surviving okay, I planted it in the border and did manage to get a few leaves out of it before it started bolting.
Cats are supposed to hate pennyroyal. I keep it next to the feeder:
A nigella (love-in-a-mist) bud:
Fig leaves:
White rose:
Ox eye daisies opened:
A picture of an aquilegia:
The honey bees like ox eye daisy, but the bumble bees don't seem to care for it:
More:
Close-up of a hoverfly. It's weird, I can't stand bugs, but hoverflies don't bother me at all:
Ox eye daisy bud:
The passionflower starting getting flowerbuds. Finally!!
A strawberry:
The borages have started getting buds:
A Snowy!
The bumble bees prefer the aquilegia:
Hoverflies love watercress flowers:
The first and only time I saw a hoverfly showing any interest in the poached egg flower!
Again:
Ox eye daisies!!
Night scented stock:
Cornflower (wild version):
Night scented stock flower! Smells lovely!
Morning glory is budding:
And flowers!
Carrion crow:
Zounds... of ox eye daisies:
The teasel is finally flowering:
Tommy B:
Poppies haven't been doing so well this year. Only two grew, and they are very small:
ZOMG MOAR ox eye daisies:
A mystery weed (I did identify it, but I forgot). Very pretty:
Nicotiana. They are another night-scented flower, and smell delicious!
My leek flowered!
Borage flower:
Robbo!
And the passionflowers opened!
My climbers: passionflower in the tub, two morning glories (one was a self-seeder from last year's plant) and sweet peas. No flowers on the sweet peas yet:
The ox eyes are definitely a hit with the insects. There are always hoverflies and honey bees and other flies buzzing about them... and shield bugs, ugh:
See, this is what I mean about looking backcombed. Or dragged through a hedge backwards:
