ある日、少年はペンギンちゃんに出会った。
aru hi, shounen wa pengin-chan ni deatta.
One day, Boy met a penguin.

ペンギンちゃんは少年に付いて来た。
pengin-chan wa shounen ni tsuite kita.
Penguin followed him everywhere.

ペンギンちゃんは憂鬱やった。迷子やと少年は思った。
pengin-chan wa yuu-utsu yatta. maigo ya to shounen wa omotta.
Penguin was sad. Boy thought he was lost.

ほんで、少年は男さんに聞いたが、男さんは「あかん」と言うた。
honde, shounen wa otoko-san ni kiita ga, otoko-san wa "akan" to yuuta.
So Boy asked Man, and Man said no.

次に、少年は鳥ちゃんに聞いたが、鳥ちゃんは「知らん」と言うた。
tsugi ni, shounen wa tori-chan ni kiita ga, tori-chan wa "shiran" to yuuta.
So Boy asked birdies, but birdies said no.

次に、少年はアヒルちゃんに聞いたが、アヒルちゃんは「知らんがな」と言うた。
tsugi ni, shounen wa ahiru-chan ni kiita ga, ahiru-chan wa "shiran ga na" to yuuta.
So Boy asked duckie, but duckie said, "I don't know".

少年は悲しくなってん。眠れなくなってん。
shounen wa kanashiku natten. nemurenaku natten.
Boy was sad. He couldn't sleep.

ほんで、少年は本を読んで、大きな船を見た。
honde, shounen wa hon wo yonde, ookina fune wo mita.
So Boy read a book, and he saw a big ship.

二人で、ボートを作って、乗り出した。
futari de, booto wo tsukutte, noridashita.
And they made a boat and they went to sea.

昼でも、夜でも航海した。
hiru de mo, yoru de mo, koukai shita.
They sailed during the day and the night.

荒波でも航海した。
aranami de mo koukai shita.
And they went in stormy seas.

ついに、南極に着いた。
tsui ni, nankyoku ni tsuita.
Finally, they arrived at the South Pole.

少年は、ペンギンちゃんに「バイバイ！」と言うて、ボートに乗り込んだ。
shounen wa, pengin#chan ni "bai bai" to yuute, booto ni norikonda.
Boy said "bye bye", and went back in the boat.

少年が帰えりかけたが、ペンギンちゃんはまだ憂鬱やったわ。
shounen ga kaeri kaketa ga, pengin-chan wa mada yuu-utsu yatta wa.
He started his journey home, but penguin was still sad.

少年はペンギンちゃんのことを考えていた。
shounen wa pengin-chan no koto we kangaete ita.
Boy thought about the penguin.

「しもた〜！ペンギンちゃんは迷子やあらへんで！寂しいなんや！」
"shimota~! pengin-chan wa maigo ya arehen de! sabishii nan ya!"
"Oh no! Penguin isn't lost! Penguin is lonely!"

ほんで、少年はペンギンちゃんの元に戻ろうとしたが、いなくなってしもたのや。どこに行ってん？
hon de, shounen wa pengin-chan no moto ni modorou to shita ga, inaku natte shimota no ya. doko ni itten?
So Boy went back to penguin, but it wasn't there. Where did it go?

「 あかん！ペンギンちゃんはどこ？］と 少年はすすり泣いた。
"akan! pengin-chan wa doko?" to shounen wa susurinaita.
"Oh no! Where's penguin gone?" sniffed Boy.

しゃあなく、もう一度帰ろうとした。
shaanaku, mou ichido kaerou to shita.
So he went back in the boat and started for home once more.

しかし、ちょうどその時、何かを見た！
shikashi, choudo sono toki, nanka wo mita!
But then he saw something!

ペンギンちゃんやったで！
pengin-chan yatta de!
It was the penguin!

今抱き締める時やで！
ima dakishimeru toki ya de!
And now it's time for cuddles!

ほんで、家に帰って、二人でめっちゃすばらしい話を語っていた。
honde, ie ni kaette, futari de meccha subarashii hanashi wo hanashite ita.
And they headed home and told wonderful stories.

めでたし、めでたし。
medetashi, medetashi.
