A transcription and translation of the story of Momotarou, retold by the Yumearu channel. I hope this will be useful to beginner learners of Japanese.

昔むかーし、おばあさんは川へ洗濯に行きました。
mukashi, mukashi, obaasan wa kawa e sentaku ni ikimashita.
Long, long ago, Obaasan [Old Lady] went to the river to do her laundry.

ドンブラコッコ、ドンブラコッコ。向こうから、大きな桃が流れてきました。
donbura kokko, donburra kokko. mukou kara, ookina momo ga nagarete kimashita.
Donbura kokko. Donburra kokko! A big peach came floating along.

桃を割ったら、赤ちゃんが生まれました。
momo wo wattara, akachan ga umaremashita.
When they cut open the peach, a baby was born.

「オンギャー！」名前は桃太郎。
"ongyaa!" namae wa momotarou.
"Waa waa!" His name was Momotarou [The Peach Boy].

桃太郎はすくすく大きくなりました。
momotarou wa suku suku ookiku narimashita.
Momotarou quickly grew big and strong.

ある日、悪い鬼が宝物を盗んで行きました。
aru hi, warui oni ga takaramono wo nusunde ikimashita.
One day, a naughty ogre grabbed their treasure and stole it away.

桃太郎は、鬼退治に行くことにしました。
momotarou wa, oni taiji ni iku koto ni shimashita.
Momotarou decided to go out to teach it a lesson.

おばあさんは美味しいきび団子を作ってくれました。
obaasan wa, oishii kibidango wo tsukutte kuremashita.
Obaasan made him some delicious kibidango [millet dumplings].

出発です！
shuppatsu desu!
It's time to set out!

犬がやってきました。
inu ga yatte kimashita.
A dog came along.

「きび団子、一つちょうだい、ワン！」
"kibidango, hitotsu choudai, wan!"
"Give me one of your kibidango, woof!"

「うん、いいよ。」
"un, ii yo."
"Okay, here you are."

犬が仲間になりました。
inu ga nakama ni narimashita.
The dog became his companion.

「ぼくも欲しい、ウッキー！」
"boku mo hoshii ukkii!"
"I want one too, kii kii!"

サルがやってきました。
saru ga yatte kimashita.
A monkey came along.

「ぼくにも下さい！イッピー！」
"boku ni mo kudasai! ipii"
"Give me one too, peep peep!"

キジもやってきました。
kiji mo yatte kimashita.
A pheasant also came along.

「うん、いいよ！」
"un, ii yo!"
"Okay, here you are!"

みんな仲間になりました。
minna nakama ni narimashita.
They all became companions.

桃太郎たちは、鬼ヶ島に着きました。
momotaroutachi wa, oniga shima ni tsukimashita.
Momotarou and his team arrived at Ogre Island.

犬と、サルと、キジと、一緒に大暴れ！
inu to, saru to, kiji to, ooabare!
With the dog, and the monkey and the pheasant, they taught the ogre a real lesson!

「ごめんなさい！許して下さい！」
"gomennasai! yurushite kudasai!"
"I'm sorry! Please forgive me!"

悪い鬼は宝物を返してくれました。
warui oni ga, takaramono wo kaeshi kuremashita.
The naughty ogre returned all their treasure.

桃太郎は宝物を持って、村へ帰りました。
momotarou wa, takaramono wo motte, mura e kaerimashita.
Momotarou took the treasure and returned back to his village.

めでたしめでたし。
medetashi, medetashi.
And they all lived happily ever after.
