Phoenix's voice is a little high-pitched. Will Mr Takumi be able to voice him in an anime?

⚫ How did you get the role?
I only exercised my director's privilege at critical moments, but because he's the protagonist, I insisted on playing him. The sounds manager and I secretly worked behind the scenes, making up stories about what we were doing, and when everyone realised, we already had Phoenix's "Objection!", and then one by one, we recorded the other characters' voices.

⚫ Tell us about the recordings.
"Objection!" "Take that!" "Hold it!" We made at least 30 recordings for each. "Objection" was a tricky one to get right for me personally. I got a lot of criticism from the sound manager.

⚫ If they made an anime?
Now I wonder if I can exercise my director's privilege for that once more?

⚫ A final word for the players?
During the recording sessions, I was obsessively shouting until my voice went hoarse, but there were moments where the the form of the characters overlapped. Those moments where we were able to match them were the best takes. They were really special moments for me.

Miles Edgeworth

Voice Actor — Tatsurou Iwamoto

Voiced by character designer Mr Iwamoto. We could certainly feel it during the interview.

⚫ How did you get the role?
I had an audition. All the team members' voices were tested for the recording, and I was chosen.

⚫ Tell us about the recordings.
In AA3, I had to make new recordings for "Take that!" and "Hold it!", but I had to make them with the same voice that I used for "Objection!" three years ago, so it was tricky. Takumi-san would say, "Try to put more passion into it!", but I'd say, "Edgeworth has a cool type of demeanour, doesn't he?"

⚫ If they made an anime?
I'll leave that to the professional voice actors!

⚫ A final word for the players?
My outer appearance (and inner!) doesn't resemble Edgeworth at all. So please don't feel disillusioned (lol)!

Franziska von Karma

Voice Actor — Yukari Suwabe

Making a perfect image, by matching her voice to a considerably aggressive personality. Was it quite difficult to record?

⚫ How did you get the role?
When I heard about it from the producer, I announced, "Let me have a go!" I didn't audition for anyone in particular. From hearing about it to being selected was about 30 seconds (lol).

⚫ Tell us about the recordings.
The script was only one word, but we did so many retakes, it took half an hour. I got personal guidance from Takumi-san: "Project your voice deep from your abdomen!" and I was able to hear that raw "Objection!" (lol)

⚫ If they made an anime?
Despite only being one line, I had to do so many retakes, and having to listen to my voice would be embarrassing, so I don't think it's a good idea (*sweat*).

⚫ A final word for the players?
Do I appear to resemble Franziska-chan's aggressive personality? She's a really enjoyable character.

Prosecutor Godot

Voice Actor — Hideki Kamiya

Director of Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe

Scoop?! Godot's voice actor really hated coffee!

⚫ How did you get the role?
The director, Takumi-san, asked for voices. I wonder if it's because I was always saying, "I want to appear in it, too!" that they let me have a go?

⚫ Tell us about the recordings.
It was only one word, but I had to raise my voice many times, doing several retakes. I got advised to be "grim", but it wasn't really so easy. Now that I've finished playing the game, imitating Godot has become easy. It seems Godot has become a popular character among both males and females.

⚫ If they made an anime?
I'd prefer the professionals to perform it. As a fan, my hope is that they will make an anime!

⚫ A final word for the players?
I use the white mug that I got on White Day with great care. But because I hate coffee, what I drink form it is soup...

Mia Fey

Voice Actor — Miyuki Kawahara

Despite the modest comments of Kawahara-san, we think her portrayal of young Mia is on point!

⚫ How did you get the role?
I put myself forward. With Franziska-chan already going to Suwabe-san, I asked Takumi-san if there were any roles available. Eventually [Atsushi] Inaba-san said, "We're judging swimwear [?]", and I agreed without hesitation.

⚫ Tell us about the recordings.
Being words that I don't often say, I had an unusual amount of difficulty. Especially with the "Take that!". I think I had to repeatedly shout it 30-40 times. Initially, I had to pay more attention to the intonation than the performance. Using as much power as possible, if I pushed my voice to its absolute limit, I could get it out okay.

⚫ If they made an anime?
I want it to happen, whatever it takes (lol)! Based on the previous flashback episodes, I'd like to play Mia again.

⚫ A final word for the players?
There may be people with a different image of her, but if you're able to see a different side of her, please try to think and listen.

Winston Payne

⚫ How did you get the role?
I just happened to be there.

⚫ Tell us about the recordings.
When I was repeating "Hold it!" [matta], I ended up saying "More!" [motto]. I was like a useless old man, needing guidance.

⚫ If they made an anime?
Of course, they'll make one!

⚫ A final word for the players?
The person doing his voice is also like Payne (really).
