Note: Phoenix uses the phrase "umai koto" meaning "clever or wise things", but "umai" also means "tasty". Gummi uses "oishii tokoro" is his next line. "Oishii" means "delicious". I think he interpreted it as the wrong "umai"? Unless oishii has another meaning. There's a reference to a line from Reminiscence 1. I can only assume that "miken ni hibi ga haitteru" (a crack appearing on one's forehead) is ruder than saying "shiwa", which means "wrinkle" or "crease"? I can't find any info on this phrase.

Phoenix: Hey, Edgeworth. Thanks for giving me a lift.

Edgeworth: ...It's no big deal. We're going to the same place, after all.

Phoenix: Man, I was in big trouble, with both my bike tyres punctured.

Maya: Hey, how about you buy a car, too, Nick? A bright red sports car?

Phoenix: Before that, I need to get my driver's licence.

Gumshoe: Honestly, pal. You're a disgrace of a defence lawyer, needing to get a lift from a prosecutor!

Phoenix: Excuse me for asking, but then why are you in the car too, Detective Gumshoe?

Gumshoe: Man, I was in big trouble, with both my shoes so worn out that they had holes in their soles.

Maya: Mr Gumshoe, you could buy a bike for now.

Gumshoe: Before that, I need to sort something out about the big tear in the seat of my trousers, pal!

Phoenix: Hey, just to be sure, it might be a good idea for you to do up the buttons on your coat.

Gumshoe: Ha ha! Yesterday, my final button fell off!

Phoenix: I-Is that so?

Maya:... The atmosphere has become just a little depressing, at this early hour in the morning.

Edgeworth: Even so, it's been four years since I first met you in court. The time has just flown by.

Phoenix: For sure.

Gumshoe: You guys. To be honest, going by those first impressions, I never thought we would end up being friends like this.

Phoenix: You and me both.

Maya: How about me, I was arrested without warning by Mr Gumshoe.

Gumshoe: N-Now, now. We can look back at it now as a funny story! Ha ha ha!

Maya: Hey hey, Prosecutor Edgeworth. Put on some music for us, won't you?

Edgeworth: Hmph. Today, I'm in the mood for some nostalgic tunes.

Maya: Ohhh, I know this one!

Edgeworth: It's the Gyakuten Saiban Original Soundtrack. For us at least, this is the music that best represents our deep bond.

Maya: Wha! They sell this music on CD?

Edgeworth: I can't actually recommend it personally, since it is a little pricey.

Maya: Hey hey, Nick...

Phoenix: Save up your allowance and buy it yourself!

Finally someone said it!

Maya: Ouuuuch....

Gumshoe: Oh! This tune... it's from when court is starting!

Edgeworth: It's "Gyakuten Saiban — Trial".

Phoenix: Oh. It even has a name, this track.

Edgeworth: That's right. It is the soundtrack, after all.

Maya: It brings back memories, huh? Back when we first met Prosecutor Edgeworth at court. And he got that crack on his brow.

Edgeworth: ...I'd appreciate it if you said "crease".

Phoenix: Oh. This track is from when the witness gets called to the stand. I've heard this one many times.

Edgeworth: It's "Cross Examination — Moderate 2001".

Maya: Hey, this reminds me of Mr Gumshoe appearing all confused while making his excuses.

Gumshoe: I'd appreciate it if you said "testimony", pal.

Maya: After this track, you feel humiliated in a cringeworthy way, and just want to go home in shame.

Gumshoe: My diary entries on the days we had trials were always mega long, pal. I'd be up all night venting my frustrations in there.

Phoenix: Detective Gumshoe, you keep a diary?

Gumshoe: "Today I had to take the witness stand, with a feeling of humiliation." That sort of thing.

Phoenix: I-Is that so?

Maya:... The mood has become just a little depressing, at this early hour in the morning.

Gumshoe: Today, I'm prepared for the worst when giving my testimony, pal.

Phoenix: Before that, it might be better to prepare for that big tear in the seat of your trousers, Detective.

Maya: Oh, this track is hot! This is the excitement of when the trial is reaching the denouement!

Edgeworth: It's "Pursuit — Caught". When I hear this track, my driving speed goes up by 20%.

Maya: I remember it, yeah! Your eyes have gone really wide, Mr Edgeworth. You've even broken into a sweat.

Edgeworth: D-Don't be making up nonsense.

Phoenix: O-Oh! That's it!

Edgeworth: What is it, Wright?

Phoenix: The one titled "Pursuit — Caught"... that was from your point of view!

Edgeworth: I said to stop making up nonsense!

Maya: Music is a bit of a miracle worker, isn't it?

Phoenix: Where did that suddenly come from?

Maya: I mean, just by hearing these melodies, all these old memories and feelings that we'd forgotten just come floating back to the surface.

Phoenix: Ahhh... Yeah, for sure.

Edgeworth: It's been four years now. The music around us has already changed many, many times.

Maya: That's true. There've really been many changes.

Phoenix: There are also many things that have stayed the same, though. What do you think, Edgeworth?

Edgeworth: ...Personally, I don't like to dwell on the past.

Maya: But I tried out "Rise from the Ashes". I got to hear those old tracks again for the first time in ages.

Phoenix: Yeah, I didn't think it was bad, and I still don't.

Gumshoe: Yeah, well, as for looking back... If you ask me, real men look towards the future! Right, Sir?

Edgeworth: I don't like to dwell on the past... However. Maybe sometimes, it's necessary.

Gumshoe: Eh?

Edgeworth: You can identify those "constants" in your life. Know where you yourself should stand.

Maya: Ohhhh... I see!

Phoenix: That's a wise conclusion.

Gumshoe: It's just as you'd expect from Prosecutor Edgeworth, pal! He takes all the delicious stuff!

Edgeworth: Well, we've arrived.

Phoenix: It's 9.50, huh? Somehow we made it in time.

Edgeworth: Well, then. Let's meet up again afterwards, Wright.

Phoenix: Ohhh... in the courtroom.

Maya: Hmmm... Before court starts, keep that vision, both of you.
