I started the install process back in December 2023. I kept hitting a wall when trying to install Uni, but there is a fix for it. You need to do a manual update (directions here). Once you've sorted that, you're good to go.

I got all my EPs installed (UNI, NL, OFB, SNS). I copied my old no-cd crack from my netbook (I'm still paranoid about Securom haha. Also I don't have an onboard optical drive on here either). But then my screen went like this.

And no sign of the game. So I rebooted, changed the shortcut to run it in windowed mode. Only the game wouldn't load. I closed it via task manager (where it showed as a background task) and tried again; same thing.

So I tried to see if I could find any fixes and while I was doing that, I forgot I'd left the game running. It took about 5 minutes, and then it just popped up on the screen. So if you are having issues with the game not running, go and make a cup of tea or something and see if it just needs time to get going. And I do recommend using windowed mode so it doesn't mess up your screen res like it did to me the first time.

Right now I'm copying all my save files onto a thumb drive so I can transfer them onto my new PC, but now I don't know if it will mess up.
