My Scrapbook

Here are some pages from my scrapbook. Originally, this was going to be a gift for someone. It's a good thing I didn't give it to them in the end, because it probably would have just ended up being given to their boss. Or stolen by a flatmate, because that is how this so-called friend treated not only my gifts, but my actual in fact property that they were only borrowing. I'm not bitter. What makes you think that? Sigh.

Anyway, enough whining. Let's look at the scrapbook!

This card I got solely because I loved the illustration. I'm a total sucker for pictures of the moon. I think it comes down to this book I read when I was about 14. It had a lot of moon imagery in it, and I think it was the first fiction book that made me cry. No, I'm not telling you what it's called.

This was made when the scrapbook was still intended as a gift. I don't really know what to do with it. It makes me really want to visit Ireland though.

A page for one of my brats. He's all grow up now 🙁

scrap4-kid

Some photos of me when I was a kid. I don't know why I had a storage container on my head. The second down on the left is totally me doing my "OBJECTION" pose!

A page from when I went to Barbados. I actually have a lot of family there, if you were wondering why I was so invested in their becoming a republic. Barbados was where I learnt that you can swing on a palm tree's leaves without breaking it. Mind you, I was a lot smaller and lighter back then. One great thing about Barbados is that you can see the sea wherever you are. And you can tour the whole island in one day.

Here are the leaflets opened up.

This page was originally something else. So when I reappropriated this page, I turned it into a Rune Factory fangirl page. The dark strip along the top of the RF page is where the Hobbycraft double-sided tape damaged the page (it damaged several pages in my other scrapbook, too). I sent them a complaint, and they gave me a £10 voucher, which is what paid for my fabric paints!

The Luke picture came with my Star Wars bag. I decided not to colour it, because I know I'll just ruin it. I'd love to catch a firefly that's far away.

These are the cards that my Kei-chan gave me. The left-hand one was a birthday card, the right was a thank you card when she left. She was ten years older than me. I was so shocked when I found out. I said, I'll have to call you Keiko-san instead of Kei-chan now. But then I just ended up calling her Kei-chan again anyway. I'd been watching Ouran around that time.

A tribute page for my budgie.

A tribute page for my other budgie that passed away.

I did a card swap with one of my language buddies. She sent me this beautiful card featuring Japanese bush warblers. There is an interesting, but rather gross, fact about them, which I shall not share here. She also sent me a cute bonsai calendar, and some oni masks, which the kids were terrified of.

scrap13-naosan

A closer look at the card. I think it is the prettiest card I've ever received.

Kei-chan used to give me Japanese sweets. She said she wanted me to get fat! She had to switch jobs suddenly, and we messaged for a few weeks after, but then she just vanished, and no one could get in contact with her. I really hope she's okay. I still send her an email on her birthday every year, but she never replies 🙁

Caplico and Hello Panda were my faves. Hello Panda is easy to buy here. Sticking Japanese sweet packaging in a scrapbook is a very Tamaki-senpai thing to do, isn't it?

Clarissa Explains it All columns from 10 15 magazine (teen supplement from The Times or The Sunday Times in the late 90s).

The card on the left was from I think it was Alliance and Leicester? They sent that same pop-up Henry's cat birthday card every year. And yes, I was joined to Club Nokia! The thing next to the Clarissas was from Roy from EastEnders. TOTP Magazine loved him for some reason. It was funny.

This is from Tiny's scrapbook. It's her Sonic stickers.

That's all! I hope this has given you some ideas for your own scrapbooks. Okay, bye!
