After losing 8-2 and 8-1 in our exhibition games, I was expecting an 8-0 loss to Team USA.

It was a 6-2 loss, which was actually not as bad as I thought. And also 6+2=8. Trayce Thompson, ma Dodger, got us off to a good start in the first inning with a solo home run, and our defence held up for a while.

Then it kinda went to pot, but we got this from D'Shawn Knowles.

Somehow, I don't really feel like I can support Team USA as my second choice anymore! It probably helped that ma boi Will wasn't playing. In any case, 6-2 wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

So, if we could put up some decent competition against Team USA, surely the Canadians wouldn't be that much trouble, right?

I told you 8 is the magic number. Wow. I mean, in any other game, 8 runs would be a highly respectable score, but we completely fumbled the defence. TIL that there is such a thing as the mercy rule, which is that if there is a 10 point difference at the end of the 7th, you just put the losers out of their misery and call the game. Wow. I mean, sure they have Freddie Freeman, but ouch. 18-8.

Anyway, I'm still gonna follow Team USA because of Will, Mookie and Trea. Will made his WBC debut at the USA vs Mexico game and got a home run!

Even so, I was glad for Mexico to take the win. I can't help it! I'm British!

Next up we're facing Colombia, then Mexico. I hope we can win at least one game! Team Japan is doing awesome, though. They're gonna be my second choice. I had no idea all this time that Ohtani was also a pitcher. That was a surprise to me! There's talk of him becoming a Dodger soon, and that would be awesome!
