Here are some things I’ve been working on (notably, here are some things I’m not working on: the mini dollshouse, Dreamsong chapter 6, Prescience).

A new baby, a new baby record book. I’ve run out of ideas for cover designs. All the kids have fruit nicknames. Tiny chose Kiwi Fruit for the new one, so I went with a green theme. I painted some kraft paper with gold kids’ paint mixed with copper to tone it down.

I made a blankie as well. The problem is, yarn is made from acrylic, so washing this is going to be tricky. Why are cora balls so expensive?!

This is a ridge stitch. It’s really simple. K, K, K, P. The colour scheme is supposed to be kiwi fruit-themed.

I had to learn how to crochet all over again. Knitting is so much easier, and uses less yarn.

I found this old hook from my childhood days. I always hated the colour scheme, so I’ve gessoed it and now I need to think of an idea (how much do you want to bet I’ll just plagiarise Moriah again?). I was thinking black and copper.

I did try using cheap kids’ paints for acrylic pouring, and it turned out okay.

I used it to make some charms for Tiny and her friend, and I forgot to take a photo before I cut the shapes out. This is all I have left of it. These days if I want to glitter something, I try to paint the diluted PVA over it first, then sprinkle the glitter. But if I do need to paint the glitter over it, after I’m done, I’ll use a small amount of water in my silicone cup, rinse the brush as well as I can in that, then leave the brush to dry, and leave the cup on the windowsill to evaporate the water. Then I can use a paper towel to soak up and wipe off any excess, and once it’s dry, I can vacuum up any glitter left on the brush. That way, no glitter ends up down the sink.

I’ve been making paper beads as well. I used diluted acrylic to paint them. The colours looked ugly on paper, but when I turned them into beads, they looked really nice. Some of them have a very rustic feel.

I made some rainbow ones first. It’s important to paint the stripes horizontally, not vertically.

Then I did a blue-and-purple-themed sheet. The paint had seeped through to the back, so for some beads I used the reverse.
