Full Complement of LIT Paint! Plus, the Answer to: Can You Use it on Fabric?

Aw yeah!

lit paint

Everytime I get a bonus, they add a new colour! Well, I guess this will be my last bonus for a while, if ever. May as well make it count (gosh, I'm assuming they're still going to honour the bonus, but who knows now? We were all sent home indefinitely at 4pm yesterday, and since the Chief Buffoon won't order a shutdown of non-essential businesses, our shop may not make it). Anyway, I digress. I was actually going to ask if there were plans for a yellow LIT, and maybe even a lilac LIT (although that might be really hard to charge being at the end of the spectrum), and lo and behold, there was a yellow LIT. Heck yes, I bought it.

I Finally Bought LIT Paint!

So I saw the Tom Scott video about the Pinkest Pink, which led me to Culture Hustle, which led me to Lit Paint. Oh boy, am I easily excited by shinies — or indeed, glowies. I had my eyes on it for ages, but £10 for a small pot of glow powder just seemed way too extravagant.

But, with the news that I'd actually get a bonus in December, I was all "Yay! Lit Paint! Lit Paint!" And, actually, it's a good thing I had to wait, because there is now a PINK LIT! So I get to see the Pinkest Pink + the Glowiest Glow! And now I'm writing about it in the Bloggiest Blog?!

So I have to say, the pinkest pink was actually not as exciting as Tom Scott made it out to be. It's just a fluorescent pink, and in fact, the day after I made some glow shapes, I had a customer at work with a jacket even more shockingly pink than my pinky pink star (well, it was more a coral-pink, but it was still way more retina-burning). The pinkest pink is still way more shocking than my pink hair, anyway. So there's that.

Pinocchio

This "illiterate" member of the British working class could spell Pinocchio since infants. I learnt how to spell "pants on fire" even earlier than that!

https://boris-johnson-lies.com

They really do believe themselves to be better than the "unwashed masses", don't they? Yet the idiots who vote for this scum think they're men of the people, waging war against the elite! And patronising insults such as this only make their fervour more ardent. This country's gone to the dogs. I want out 🙁

DIY Dollshouse — Blue Times: Silver Arrows-ified!

I got Blue Times in the end. This one took me aaaaaaaaaages to make, about a month, in fact. Partly because of how much I customised it, and partly because it took me ages to end up going to Hobbycraft, where I finally found some decent glue!*

First observation: this one was really well-packed. The last mini house kit I bought, shipped from China, was in a terrible condition when it arrived, and one bag was open, with many pieces having fallen out.

This one cost about £20 on eBay, shipped from the UK. It arrived in a few days.

The quality of this one, however, I found to be lower than the first house I made. Both main wall panels were warped, one of the kitchen table legs was about 5mm too short and didn't have the tapered end. I had to make it longer with silicone glue (see if you can spot it). A piece for the support bars for the highchair was missing, and in the end the one I did get was too small when assembled, so I had to make it out of thick card instead. They bizarrely tell us to chisel the corner of the bedroom floor to a right angle, but there was absolutely no need for it. I'll have to repaint the corner, but even without customisation, that would have required repainting anyway as the original colour was white, but they don't mention it in the instructions. So do ignore that step if you buy this kit.

I bought a bookshelf for the two, and I still have two empty spaces. I managed to hold back and not buy another one just yet, though! I think I need to recover from this one first!

Primary Colours, Plus Trying out a Moriah Elizabeth Craft

What are the three primary colours for pigment? I was always taught red, blue and yellow at school, how about you? It's so wrong though. Totally wrong. Well, 2/3 wrong, to be accurate.

The three primary colours are in fact: yellow, magenta and cyan. Which I should have known as I'm the one who buys the printer ink. But you know, we have it hammered into our heads at school that it's red, blue and yellow, and we don't really question it, do we? But in fact, red and blue cannot be primary colours, for the simple reason that you can make them with magenta, cyan and yellow. Yep, and we proved it!

The kids and I had a lot of fun learning about colours!

Here's a Moriah Elizabeth quick craft I really wanted to try out.

Pob’s Programme

pob

I've been wondering for over 25 years what that crazy programme was that I used to watch as a toddler! Thanks to Michael Gove, I now know what it is! Holy cremola, this is some weird crap. No wonder I'm so messed up.

The unravelling jumper and the technicolour backgrounds! Oh, I remember that so well now! I feel 3 years old again!

The Correct Way to Make a Dollshouse

... is of course, to buy a kit, not make it out of paper maché.

Mini dollshouse lights on

I saw these on scamazon many years ago (actually, during the time I was making the paper maché monstrosity). And I decided that since I'm feeling kinda crap of late, I may as well get one to cheer myself up. Actually it's been pretty useful distracting me from the bazillion and one things that are causing anxiety these days.

SkyWatcher EvoStar 90mm AZ Refractor Review

So after half a lifetime of talking about it, I actually got round to buying a proper telescope! In truth, it was the Chipmunk's astronerdiosity (I wonder where he got that from?) that persuaded me to finally go for it. For this reason I decided on a relatively small refractor, rather than the 200mm reflector I'd always planned on buying. I decided on an altazimuth mount, as 1. equatorial mounts are scary, and 2. my area is so built up, I'd be having to move the telescope around the garden (and house) in order to actually get/keep things in my field of view. Also, EQ mounts are scary.

SkyWatcher EvoStar 90mm Refractor

I named her Eva.

I got mine from Harrison Telescopes (not sponsored), they appeared to have the best customer service, and competitive prices. I also purchased a moon filter, which was just a flimsy bit of plastic, but it does its job. Two eyepieces were included, a 25mm (36x) and a 10mm (91x).

Another Blow for de Pfeffel

Scottish appeal court judges have declared Boris Johnson’s decision to suspend parliament in the run-up to the October Brexit deadline is unlawful.

The three judges, chaired by Lord Carloway, Scotland’s most senior judge, overturned an earlier ruling that the courts did not have the power to interfere in the prime minister’s political decision to prorogue parliament./p>

Not a Good Start, de Pfeffel!

Haha, hahaha! I predicted he could be the beginning of the end of the Nasty Party! Oh this is brilliant! I've had a pretty crappy few weeks, but watching the blond buffoon crashing and burning never fails to make smile!

Rees Mogg shows us bozos majority
Source: @mrchrisjohn (twitter)

First week not even over yet, but he's already had one MP cross over to the opposition benches during his speech; he booted out 21 rebels, leaving him with a majority of minus 43; he lost all 3 votes in the Commons; was made mincemeat out of in his first PMQs; his own brother left his cabinet; and now his closest friend in the cabinet has resigned from the cabinet AND the party (majority: -45!). He's the gift that keeps on giving!

Presidente, I Believe Some of Your People May be Calling for an Election This Year…

I don't usually talk politics on this blog, but today should really be a day of national mourning in the UK. Racist, islamophobic, mendacious, disingenuous bumbling buffoon de Pfeffel Johnson has been selected as the nation's Chief Clown.

My only hope is he loses a vote of no confidence, we get a general election with the remain parties forming an alliance and this whole sorry mess can be over and done with. Of course, despite the open goal, our Red Brexiteer Corbyn could well throw the election. Britain is a sorry mess.

On the other hand, if this is what it takes to end Bozo and the Tories once and for all, then maybe it's all been worth it. The tory majority is already hanging by a very fine thread, backbench rebels are going to be a massive headache for our Glorious Leader and the whole thing could be entertaining to watch. If it destroys Nigel Farrij's political career at the same time, even better.
