I bought this Fimo like 9 years ago, and never really got very far with it. I've been watching a lot of NerdECrafter lately (and picking up way too many of her mannerisms, especially the "stop messin' ma stuff!"), and Tiny really wanted me to make a faerie garden, so inspired by this video, I thought I'd have another go with the Fimo, and see if I could make something passable.

I had two major problems:

1. The Fimo was 9 years old, and had long since hardened and become impossible to use
2. I have a gas oven, not an electrical one, and getting the oven to stay at 110° is not so easy (last time I made anything with Fimo, it had scorch marks around the edges)

You may have seen several tutorials telling you to add vegetable or baby oil to Fimo to soften it.

NO NO NO NO!

The Chipmunk and I got a plain wooden box from The Works. The Chipmunk couldn't think of how to decorate it, so of course Crafty Auntie (who is apparently just a bigger Mummy?) stepped in. He wanted to just paint the whole thing blue, with his very own blue glitter paint, but I told him, that's boring, if we're gonna do it, let's do it properly! (We did paint the inside of the lid blue, though.)

So this is what we came up with.

Everytime I get a bonus, they add a new colour! Well, I guess this will be my last bonus for a while, if ever. May as well make it count (gosh, I'm assuming they're still going to honour the bonus, but who knows now? We were all sent home indefinitely at 4pm yesterday, and since the Chief Buffoon won't order a shutdown of non-essential businesses, our shop may not make it). Anyway, I digress. I was actually going to ask if there were plans for a yellow LIT, and maybe even a lilac LIT (although that might be really hard to charge being at the end of the spectrum), and lo and behold, there was a yellow LIT. Heck yes, I bought it.

So I saw the Tom Scott video about the Pinkest Pink, which led me to Culture Hustle, which led me to Lit Paint. Oh boy, am I easily excited by shinies — or indeed, glowies. I had my eyes on it for ages, but £10 for a small pot of glow powder just seemed way too extravagant.

But, with the news that I'd actually get a bonus in December, I was all "Yay! Lit Paint! Lit Paint!" And, actually, it's a good thing I had to wait, because there is now a PINK LIT! So I get to see the Pinkest Pink + the Glowiest Glow! And now I'm writing about it in the Bloggiest Blog?!

So I have to say, the pinkest pink was actually not as exciting as Tom Scott made it out to be. It's just a fluorescent pink, and in fact, the day after I made some glow shapes, I had a customer at work with a jacket even more shockingly pink than my pinky pink star (well, it was more a coral-pink, but it was still way more retina-burning). The pinkest pink is still way more shocking than my pink hair, anyway. So there's that.
